Here we are ready to board the ship – it’s the UK government
ship RRS Discovery (RRS stands for Royal Research Ship). We’ll be living on the
ship for 3 weeks from 5-25th June – we’re very excited, it’s a
fantastic adventure! The ship is travelling from Scotland (we left from
Glasgow) to Iceland and back again (but we don’t get off at Iceland, just wave
& go back). During this time scientists will be measuring water properties,
some will be seeing what animals live at the bottom of the deep sea, and we’ll
be listening to the sounds of the sea. Follow our blog to see what adventures
we have over the next 3 weeks, and to find out about some of the science, and
what it’s like being a marine scientist on the Discovery.
